Very large, pale green glazed sandstone bead with wide bore (1/4", 1.3cm), drilled from both sides.  Incised concentric circle decoration prior to glazing.

Condition:  The bead is intact, with some small chips to the glazed body and wear marks around the hole.  Great condition overall.  Museum accession number:  28.24.9 marked in black.

Dimensions:  Height: 1 1/2" (4.5cm)  Width:  1 7/8" (3.5cm)

Provenance:  Gift of Lily Place to the Minneapolis Institute of Art, accessioned by the museum in 1927.  Deaccessioned in 1958 and thereafter in the private collection of Dr B. Harer.
