Syro-Palestinian type; this mould-made ovoid shape lamp has a flat rim around the filling-hole, and eight-shaped ridge encompassing both holes, making the inner edge of the shoulder with radiating ribs filling the space from the ridge to the carination.  A slightly raised image of a cross sits between the filling-hole and the wick-hole.   At the rear is a triangular handle.  Reference: Srdjan Djuric, Ancient Lamps from the Mediterranean (Toronto) 1995. Catalogue C308.

Condition: Intact and in excellent condition whith only minor wear to the surface.  Modern identification numbers applied in black pigment to the base.
